Creating a redesign focused on current trends made for an interesting project. It placed a clear emphasis on visuals rather than usability.
What are trends and does it make sense to design website within trends?
During this project, we extensively discussed trends: how they emerge, endure, and eventually fade away. We debated whether it's sensible for brands to adopt design trends in their visuals. Often, for companies aiming for timelessness, following trends isn't beneficial. However, there are instances where it indeed makes sense for a company to align with design trends, perhaps to better fit within the market or because the brand's goal isn't to stand out but to blend in.
